Description

Motorised Louvred Pergola — for homes, projects and the trade

The Motorised Louvred Pergola is aluminium-built and supplied direct from our Carrum Downs facility in Melbourne — to homeowners, commercial projects and trade partners alike. Whether you’re upgrading your own outdoor area or specifying a louvred roof system for a residential build, hospitality fit-out or multi-site project, the system delivers premium motorised performance with full support behind it.

Wholesale and trade enquiries welcome — see our trade and wholesale supply section below, or request a wholesale price list.

How the louvred pergola works

The system uses a series of motorised aluminium louvre blades mounted across the roof structure. Operated via remote, the louvres rotate to give you complete control over your outdoor space:

  • Open fully for maximum sunlight and airflow
  • Angle partially for filtered light and ventilation while reducing direct sun
  • Close completely for full waterproof protection — rainwater drains through integrated channels in the louvre blades, into the gutter beams and down through the columns

The system is motorised as standard. There are no manual cranks, winders or adjustment bars to operate.

Key features

100% aluminium alloy construction — every structural component (louvre blades, gutter beams, columns and fixings) is manufactured from aluminium alloy. No rust, no rot, no warping, even in Melbourne’s variable climate and coastal conditions.

Integrated drainage system — when closed, precision-cut grooves in each blade channel water through the gutter beams and hollow columns, keeping the area beneath dry without separate guttering.

Built-in LED lighting — integrated LED strip lighting is included as standard for evening ambience without additional outdoor fittings.

Clean, hidden-screw design — internal groove systems and concealed fixings give a clean architectural finish with no visible bolts on exterior surfaces.

Motorised remote control — louvres can be set to any angle between fully open and fully closed for precise control of light, shade and weather protection.

Configuration options

The pergola can be configured as a freestanding single unit or joined as a double unit for larger areas. It also pairs with other outdoor blind and living products for fully or semi-enclosed spaces:

  • With track blinds — add side protection from wind, rain and insects while keeping the view. Pairs with modern track blinds.
  • With sliding glass doors — create a fully enclosed outdoor room for year-round use.
  • With ceiling fans — improve airflow and comfort during warmer months.

Applications

The Motorised Louvred Pergola suits a wide range of residential and commercial settings, including outdoor patios, pool areas, courtyards, decks and balconies. It’s also a popular choice for cafés, restaurants, bars and hospitality venues looking to create weather-proof alfresco dining spaces year-round.

Frequently asked questions

How long does installation typically take? Most residential installations are completed in one to two days, depending on size and configuration. Larger or trade projects are scoped at quoting.

Can the pergola handle heavy rain? Yes. When the louvres are fully closed, the roof is completely waterproof. Rainwater drains through the integrated gutter and column system, keeping the area beneath completely dry.

What colours are available? Standard colours are ivory white and galaxy grey. Contact us to discuss options for your project.

Can accessories be added later? Yes. Track blinds, sliding glass doors and ceiling fans can all be added after the initial installation.

How does it compare to a fixed roof pergola? Unlike a fixed roof, the louvred system lets you control how much light and air enters the space. Open the louvres for sunshine; close them for full weather protection. For fabric-based retractable options, see our roof systems page.

Is council approval required? Permit requirements vary by council. In many cases a freestanding pergola under a certain size doesn’t need a permit, but always check with your local council.

Do you supply to the trade? Yes. We offer wholesale pricing and trade support for builders, architects, designers and outdoor living retailers Australia-wide. Contact us for trade pricing, specification sheets and project support.
